Hi everyone! I haven't been to the board in a long time, but it is always great to come back and see how God moves in peoples lives. I also have some new jewels to share with you.
1. In February I became a new coordinator for a wdw group which is also new to our church. We were one person short of a full class so we prayed. This week God answered with 1 more participant! Yeah God!
2. On December 30, 1997 I was praying about my husband's and my debt. We are still trying to get through college and stopped using credit cards and borrowing money, but we really desire to be debt free. God showed me II Kings 4:1-7 where he miracuously provided for enough oil for the widow to sell & pay off her debts so the creditors wouldn't take her and her sons as slaves. They even had enough left over to live off after the debts were paid.
So I prayed and dedicated our finances to God. "Lord--I give you our debt and finances. It's not a very good offering, but Please, bless it and help us to live debt free so we can honor you more."
Well, on January 30, my boss approached me at work and offered me a promotion (in title and pay). He was going to create a new position that he thought I would be well suited to meet the challenges. I prayed about it and accepted it. And I still can't beleive how God answers prayer! I told my Dad two days before this position came up that I was frustrated because there is no place to go up in our organization. God can really do the impossible and I am learning to never say never! I started my new position on Monday the 16th! Yeah again God!
3. The last jewel of this week comes in the form of denim. About 1 1/2 to 2 years ago my husband andI were both trying to lose weight. We made a deal that when he reached his goal I would buy him something (I don't remember what I was supposed to buy). When I reached a size 12 or lost 25 pounds, whichever came first, I would get to buy a pair of Levi jeans.
We were trying to lose weight through diet an excercise, etc... I went up and down about 5 pounds for about a year. Over time, I forgot about our deal and sort of gave up on ever losing the weight.
Well, since I started wdw in September 97 I have reached a size 12 and lost 30 pounds! I remembered my goal last week, but since we are tyring to get out of debt I didn't feel that it would be right to go buy a $60 pair of jeans (besides, i'm still losing weight). Anyway, on Thursday of this week my mom cleaned out her closets and was getting rid of things that didn't fit or that she didn't like. I found 4 pair of jeans that fit and one of them was a pair of size 11 Levi's that mom had found at a garage sale.
Today as I write I am wearing my Levi's. They remind me that God hears our prayers and answers them in the most unique way when we seek him with all of our heart and desire to serve him!
YEAH GOD!!!!
